Professional Instruction
Peter Vitali, Head Professional
Peter grew up in New Haven, Connecticut, and began playing golf at the age of 12. He went on to captain the University of Connecticut golf team and had a successful collegiate career followed by several years competing on both the Golden Bear Tour and Tear Drop Tour circuits across the country.
Peter followed up his playing career in 1998 by becoming the First Assistant at Country Club of the Rockies in Vail, Colorado. During the winters he taught at Old Marsh Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. It was at this time he was privileged to work with David Leadbetter, Dave Pelz, Mike Adams, Bob Toski, Chuck Cook, Dr. Craig Farnsworth and Rick Jensen, a noted sports psychologist. From this experience Peter developed a keen understanding of the cause-and-effect relationship of the golf swing and the mental skills needed to be a successful athlete.
In 2002 Peter left the Colorado mountains for the island of Nantucket where he gave instruction to the likes of Jack Welch and Warren Buffet at the Nantucket Golf Club. Peter came to Gaillardia in October 2003, and brings with him an extensive background in teaching as well as golf club operations.
Daniel Switser, Assistant Golf Professional
Daniel comes from Plano, Texas where he first found his passion for the game of golf. He grew up playing out of Gleneagles Country Club where he was fortunate enough to compete on a daily basis with some of the best amateurs and professionals in the country.
Daniel had a very successful junior golf career in the American Junior Golf Association, highlighted by his participation in the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Invitational as a senior in high school. Following high school he went to the University of Oklahoma for three years and competed around the country in the State Farm Collegiate Players Tour.
In August of 2006, Daniel successfully passed his Playing Ability Test (PAT) and is now a registered PGA Apprentice. He is currently finishing his Level 1 PGA studies and plans on traveling in the coming months to Florida for his Level 1 exams.
Daniel spent the last year in Dallas at Waterview Golf Club where he ran a tournament operation that successfully ran over 80 events in 2006. His passion for the game and knowledge of tournaments and teaching will most certainly be a welcome addition to the Gaillardia team.
